I didn't get anything today. If nothing is here by Tuesday I'll assume waitlist or not reviewed yet. According to Linda the ADCOM is meeting in April this year, which means we won't get waitlist notification (if we're waitlisted) until then. Sweet
 
stupid monday...dang it...i totally forgot about the holiday😡 ...stupid me for telling people i was sure i was going to hear something by saturday. jeez!!! its probably still reasonable to have hope, at least until tuesday, that something is on its way...

Do you mine telling when your letter was postmarked? Unless you ripped it into little pieces, like I would have done.

Haven't shredded it yet, it was postmarked the 15th.
Also, it was not a certified letter.

By the way, if you wouldn't mind PMing me any tips for interviewing at Touro, I'd appreciate it.

****ty. Coulda done better if I woulda taken it right after third year, but it won't make a difference in my app anyway. Just glad its over. I'm up in Tahoe right now and its been in the 50s and sunny, without a hint of new snow for over a week. My board is collecting dust.

BTW, what the hell does underconsideration mean? Is that like hovering between being let in or put on the waitlist? Is it equivalent to being out on post interview "hold"?
 
I guess, they say you may be placed on the waitlist in May. But I've heard people getting accepted from the under consideration pile before then. If UNR would let me in, I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Remember if your file was reviewed, it's better to get nothing than to get a rejection. If you're waitlisted, the waitlist is pretty small and moves through the top 3rd pretty consistently.

Nothing certified for me. I haven't checked my mailbox yet. Maybe I'll have a few drinks and then go down there.
 
I guess I'm waitlisted. Nothing from them today and I had to have been reviewed because i interviewed in Nov. This sucks, they only take a few OOS as it is. Does anyone know if they have a separate wl for OOS?

I'm actually in Nashville right now, so yeah, it took a while longer to get here. I called yesterday and Ms. Four said the earliest I would find out was March 15th, and latest would be April 15th. Guess she wanted to surprise me? Don't know, but yay! Nevada! I'll be so much closer to home now! (I really miss Boise...)

Also, Application wasn't complete until late December; interviewed Jan 23rd.

So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck everyone! Hope to see you there!
 
Hopefully it takes as long for a letter to get from Reno to Las Vegas as it does to get from Reno to Nashville

i think we're out of luck....at least for now....

and thats great to know the admissions office might lie to me in the name of a happy surprise...which is fine and all, I guess, except now if i call, and they tell me I won't be hearing anything for a while, I'll just have to assume I'm accepted too!:laugh: "Ohh, I see ...I wont be hear back from you till March? ....(jumping up and down and screaming) Thank you so much!! I can't wait to move to Nevada!"

Well, I'm going to go get my non-certified mail out of my dissapointing mailbox. Probably gonna curse at it too. My neighbors are used to that by now...wouldnt want to dissapoint...
 
Well, my last hopes of February were dashed today, nothing certified. Looks like March &/or the waitlist again.
 
Yay looks like a waitlist since my interviewer told me I was reviewed this last round. I'm still hoping that the mailman took the scenic rout from reno to vegas and I'll get something exciting in the mail today...that's just pure wishing though🙂

Looks like the waitlist letters don't go out until April 15th this year.
 
Anyone have any insight as to when the committee meets in March? Is it going to be early like the last two months?
 
To Steiner: Totally unrelated to this thread, but I didn't know how else to contact you. You mentioned in a previous thread that one school turned you down essentially based on your MCAT writing score. I got the same writing score as you (and approximately the same numerical score) and am about to start applying, so I was wondering if you could say what school that was? Then maybe I can avoid applying there or at least be ready for their reaction to that issue. Thanks. (Also note that this is my first post ever on SDN, so your response will mold my view of how welcome I feel in the SDN, and generally medical, community, for all eternity. No pressure!)

Seriously? First off, welcome to sdn. A bit of advice though: take everything you get from here with a grain of salt and try to get thicker skin through this process because there will be many who won't be encouraging although you'll get tons of useful info on this site. Good luck~

I emailed the OOS admissions coordinator today and she said I can expect to hear Mar. 15 at the earliest and April 15th at the latest. So I assume that they aren't meeting early.
 
Where are all the UNSOM hopefuls?
 
The committee probably meets today, and the letters go out this coming Thursday. If you're getting anything it should be by next Monday at the latest. Hope everyone gets good news.

I hope the recent silence on this thread means I'm the only applicant left for UNSOM to review. If thats the case I should get in, no problem.

Letters go out today. Hopefully everyone hears something by Saturday.
 
I just got a letter from UNSOM today. I was selected for the alternate list. Linda Marshall said that I am in the high middle of the list. The letter was sent by regular first class mail, postmarked March 15, 2007.

Did anyone else get anything?
 
I did not get anything today, but getting an alternate list letter means that the adcom meetings are done I think, which means everyone will get something by this week.

I think high middle of the UNSOM list is a pretty good place to be. Their list is pretty short and they get through the top third a lot, from what I've heard.
 
Linda Marshall said that last year I wouldn't have been accepted but the year before I would have. In any case if I do get an acceptance it will be very late. I'll probably end up going to an osteopathic school, which to me isn't a bad thing.
