I've been to the webpages but am still confused. How is it possible that ERAS allows you to include your osteopathic internship in your ERAS application? Does ERAS participate in the DO match too? I want to do an AOA internship and apply to an allopathic radiology program (because I find it completely rediculous our profession has only 12 residencies and 9 of them are in Michigan- rediculous) and ERAS appears to be the easiest way to do that if they allow me to include my AOA rotating internship year with a PGY-2 track to radiology.

Anyone?

so I can fill in both apps in one location = ERAS website and it will put me in the osteo match in feb then the allo match in march automatically? Sounds too easy/convienent- lol

That's how it works. If you match DO for a PGY 1 position, you can't stay in the MD match for a PGY 1 position, but you can stay in for PGY 2 positions. You'll have to do rank lists for each match separately.

And, yes: one online app.

So doc mom,

So I know that if I apply to an osteo internship w/ a linked residency I am actually applying for the residency... an extra year ahead of time. How about if I apply for an internship w/o a linked residency... can I apply to the residency I want the same extra year ahead of time... or do I apply the next year... durring my internship? Im talking about AOA programs... not ACGME.

I didn't deal with that cause I only applied to linked programs, so I'm probably not the best person to answer, but I think you generally apply for both at the same time.
