I am searching the AOTA site for new programs and found some exciting applicant programs. Does anyone know the average amount of time it takes for a program to go from applicant program to developing program, where the program can start admitting students?

From what I've heard talking to program directors. It takes about 1.5 years from the start of the first class. Therefore, the first class would be in the last semester of their program when the program finds out if they are accredited or not. Thus, I urge everyone not to be in the first class in-case the school never becomes accredited. Hope that helps!

What happens if you enroll in a program and after 1.5 years while you are in your last semester you find out they are not accredited?
