Hi guys. I just graduated from high school and I wanted to ask some questions for my upcoming freshman course schedule. I passed the AP English and Math test, so that will allow me to bypass some english and math classes. Do medical schools accept this? I know some pre-reqs are like 1 year of english. Since I passed my test, I only need the last quarter of english. Will this be a problem? Should I just start from the beginning to make sure I follow the pre-reqs suggested by the medical schools? Thank you!

AP Credit for English pre-req should be fine for most medical schools. Most medical schools only care if you take AP credit for your science classes like bio, chem and physics. Even then, most allow it as long as you take an upper level class in these sciences if you use your AP credit

a huge percentage of pre-meds are in the same boat with you. Yes you can use your AP credit, there is even a place to fill it in on AMCAS, as for college, you will start off with the next english after the exempted classes. The only reason you would want to take them over and deny credit is if you needed a GPA boost...

The only school that I can think of off the top of my head that doesn't like AP credit is that Harvard won't accept your English AP credit to satisfy their one year of "expository writing" requirement; though there may be a few others, in general your AP credit should be fine.
