I got a 5 on the AP Calc BC exam and so I placed out of Calc I and II. Since I really hate math I wasn't planning on ever taking a math class again after calculus in high school, but some people here on SDN have been saying that med schools only take AP credit if you've got upper-level classes in the subject area. Should I be thinking about taking Calc III? The math department at my school isn't so great (Calc II is the most-failed class at the University) and I haven't really done math since 11th grade -- I'm now a second-year. What do you guys think? 🙁

1. Most schools don't require calculus
2. Med schools will accept AP credit calculus of a 5, as long as it is credited at your University.
3. Take Biostatistics instead. Calculus is not used in med school, but stats is.

Calc III is a HORRIBLE math class. Avoid it at all costs  I seriously doubt you need to take a higher level math class in order to use your AP credit... but if that is true, then follow OSUdoc08's advice. Biostats is really easy and it'll be useful for med school.
