In high school I took the AP Physics B exam and made a 4. Would this provide me with an adequate physics background to tackle studying for MCAT physics?

I think minus orgo, if you've taken ap physics, ap chem, ap bio and physiology in high school you could take the mcat straight out of high school. You guys might think i'm crazy, but it's true....maybe further developing your reading, writing and analytical abilities in college helps too, but material wise, it's enough.

I also got a 4 on AP Physics B. My teacher wasn't very good though, we didn't cover all the material we were supposed to. She told us if we wanted to get a 5 we would have to self-study the rest of the material (we skipped waves, I'm not sure what else).

As long as you are using good materials to study for the mcat you should be fine only having Physics B. I ended taking Physics I and II in college. I took them because I knew they would be easy A's and I also thought they would help with the MCAT. It made it so that I don't have to study Physics much for the MCAT but I don't think my score will be any different than if I had not taken them in college.
Yeah. I want to take my MCAT Summer 2010 because that will be just after I finish orgo, and I wasn't planning on retaking physics until Fall 2010.

I took both physics C tests in highschool. The MCAT PS is ALOT like the exams. Things I studied for it (and drilling/completely understanding the concepts for the AP exam) were immensely helpful for the PS section. Wouldn't know about B, but I am sure it is similar. There are just so many ways you can test physical sciences in a multiple choice format. Taking AP Chem and Physics C, and having studied for both those multiple choice exams way back when, had already taught me quite abit about PS multiple choice "mindset." Far and away made PS my best section.

IMO, for what its worth, organic is one of the most useless classes for the MCAT. The organic that is tested is really not (at least here, anyway) what is covered most by the MCAT. It did help getting a basic understanding for all the organic questions, but not to the extent that other classes did.
