Is there any practice exams for part 3?
No. That's why it's such a diabolical test. You really need to prep hard for this one and expect questions on subjects you never would have guessed.

I was so stressed when I took it, but somehow, along with 99% of my fellow test takers, I was able to squeak by. Good luck to you, and may God have mercy on your soul.

FYI there are x3 NBPME/Meazure practice exams now (2×60 + 1×59 = 179 Qs total). Seems like a newer thing, so even Adam “AO Fellowship Director” Smasher may not have had these back in his dinosaur era.

Feels Part 2ish but more mgmt heavy. I’m using them as diagnostics to find weak spots, then going ham on BoardVitals.

Good luck Class of 2026!

Scores came out today. Thankfully passed.

For future test takers, I’d describe Part III as Part II-ish content with more clinical mgmt/“best next step” style questions.

NBPME/Meazure practice exams were helpful for finding weak spots. BV was useful for refreshing concepts, but not mandatory.

I’d focus on the HY “do not miss this in clinic/OR” concepts: common complications, infections, wounds, imaging, and mgmt decisions.

Don’t wing it, but don’t overthink it. Know the basics well, and if you put in effort during externships, you’ll be fine.

I totally agree. Passed as well.

What I would add is if you prepped well for interviews and any odd ball question they could throw at you for those it pays off on this exam as well.

Was heavy on BV for my study strategy (same for the previous parts), I would say its maybe the least useful of the bunch, but if you repeat part 2 study strategy, find weaknesses and heavy interview prep you’ll be fine. Part 2 and 3 are similar, but, like, @BoredSnorlax said more management focused (like on interviews).
