Does it matter whether you have a passport from another country and are an American citizen ? Will it negatively affect your app

do you mean dual citizenship? if so, then it most likely won't matter, unless you lived in another country for an extended period of time. In that sense, you won't be considered in state for any schools

Not at all. I had dual citizenship. Makes no difference

I have dual citizenship, too. I even grew up in another country and came here for college. I didn't have the feeling it affected my app, besides maybe give me plus points in the diversity aspect.
