My fingers are crossed for this one! I'm surprised to see that they contact people by phone... Hoping that they are still making their rounds.

Did any other US applicants apply for Canadian sites? I applied for 2, but truthfully don’t fully understand how difficult it would be attend them. It seems like there wouldn’t be any issue post-internship, but that also is something I need to look into further.
I also applied to a couple canadian sites. There should be people at your university and the site to get residency or work visa things worked out. Also, i havent havent heard back from any of my canadian sites.

Do you have any idea how you are planning on getting there from the Kansas City airport? I didn't realize that it was 75 minutes away!

I actually live in KC, so I am just driving out there that morning! There are shuttles that will take you though, as well as bus lines. Uber is an option as well (though might cost you a bit more than you'd like!). Alternatively, if anyone is flying in early the morning that I am interviewing there, or will be staying in KC, I am happy to give folks a lift!

That is so friggin' kind of you! I didn't apply there, but just had to say that. 🙂

Sheesh. It could just be a matter of the sites to which I've paid most attention, but phone calls seemed to be relatively infrequent - today there are two sites of mine making phone calls.

Phone calls throw me off so badly. For some reason both times I have gotten phone calls I have gotten interrupted by several people and just came off awkward and anxious. Ugh!! I hope DCTs understand.

I applied to one Canadian site. There are faculty in my program that completed CPA accredited internships but not sure how difficult it was to secure a post-doc and/or job. Given the current political climate and immigration laws, I'm more concerned about how difficult it will be to obtain a visa. I was told by the DT at the site I applied to that I should seek legal consultation throughout the process as the site cannot ensure that there won't be any complications re: documentation.

Excited about the possibility of being back on my coast 🙂

Of course they would understand! Assuming those people in the background aren't throwing around expletives while watching a UFC fight or something.

Congrats!! Me too!! Did they even have specialty tracks? I think I also just applied to the general track.

I have bad reception at my house and a baby that decided to cry every time i got a call about interviews. I had to go outside of my home to answer and misheard the DCT’s name, i was sooo embarrassed... i really hope they don’t hold it against me 🙁

Yup, I had a hungry crying baby that nanny brought into my office right as I got one of my first choice sites. And then someone decided to flush the toilet (right next to my office) as I was speaking to this first choice site. Fun times.

My other site that called I was getting in the car, and the bluetooth went on, so I missed the site name.

Maybe I shouldn't pick up the phone if it's a bad time, but I also want to get my first choice of dates...

Are people still getting notifications from Geisinger neuro track or am I just in the rejected pile? 🙁

Feeling pretty bummed about it.

I'm sorry, I know we all have disappointments through this process. I think it was a mass email and so I think they may have went out at the same time. They gave 3 days to respond so I assume around that time you may have a more concrete answer.

Has anyone heard from NYU Langone (Rusk Rehab)? I haven't seen anyone inquire about this site nor do I see it on last year's thread.

I applied to 6 Canadian sites. However, I am a Canadian completing an APA PhD program in the US. Historically, based on the experiences of a few people I know, it is difficult to obtain a Canadian internship in the US because there's a bit of a gamble in successfully obtaining a Visa (because a visa isn't 100% guaranteed) after you've accepted an internship. Also, many Canadian sites explicitly state preferences for Canadian citizens as applicants. It also depends on where you want to practice, Canada has a different healthcare system than the US so you'd be getting a different experience with regards to the billing and insurance aspect of professional practice.

I also applied to a couple canadian sites. There should be people at your university and the site to get residency or work visa things worked out. Also, i havent havent heard back from any of my canadian sites.

FYI Canada has a universal notification date of Friday Dec 7 and a universal response date on the following Monday.

I'm sorry if I've missed this somewhere, but has anyone heard from UNC Department of Medicine besides the forensic track? I feel like all of my sites are waiting until the last minute and it's making me feel crazy!

I don’t think so. I feel your pain though, I’m waiting on BMED from UNC and Yale. Killin me! I think we’ll hear back within the next 3 days based on past years.
