You can post additional information as you like (rejections, etc.) but this is the basic info I will plan on tracking unless I hear otherwise. I'm going to reserve the next couple posts below.

Good luck everyone!

Heads up - Family Service and Guidance Center is in Topeka, KS. The Guidance Center is in CA, but there is another in Leavenworth, KS. Very confusing, I know, but just wanted to clarify! So far folks have heard from FSGC (in Topeka, KS) and The Guidance Center in CA. The Guidance Center in KS has not been heard from as of yet!

You are a good person! Should be fixed.

Just received my first rejection 🙁 I knew it was on the way, and had never invested much emotionally in this site as it was probably the most competitive I applied to. Still stings though!

Has anyone heard from UCLA SMI track or Mass Mental Health SMI track?

I know someone who applied for the PREP track at MMHC@BIDMC and has not heard anything. I applied to the Neuro track and have not heard anything either. At least we only have to wait until Tuesday (or Monday based on their own website).

I actually cried with happiness.

For these sites that no longer are accepting interns next year, but announced it after the application due date, has anyone asked for a refund for the application fee? Any thoughts on that?

I appreciate this post, as it shows a true and thorough commitment to the process as a Training Director. In your experience, is there utility in a 'maybe' list of applicants or a list of applicants to which one would not immediately send rejection notifications? I have often wondered whether or not there exists a likely scenario in which this type of list would be useful, or if certain sites send rejections later than invitations because they are less important (in terms of scheduling, for example).

At my site I send the rejections and invites at the same time, however we have a list of yes/no/maybe going up until the day we finalize invites. I can understand sites wanting to do rolling invites in case someone turns down an invite, and as the imbalance swings the other direction it may become more likely to have sites do rolling invites.

My experience has been that most people who turn down the invite do so signicantly later than is helpful for us (such as the day before or day of the interview). In the 5 years I’ve been doing this Ive only had one applicant turn down an invite immediately. Fwiw, I do tend to remember the applicants who turn down invites/cancel at the last moment and college counseling is a very small world. So for those of you thinking of doing so, consider asking for an alternative time/day first and only cancel if it really needs to happen.

Method of Invitation (Phone call, personal/mass email, snapchat): Phone call ( awkwardist call of my life )
Specialty Track or Site (e.g., for consortiums): n/a
Offered Interview Dates: 1/3, 1/4, 1/8, 1/9 in person and the possibility of phone interviews if unable to make it.

I got this one too but my stupid phone was messing up and it went straight to my voice mail. Based on the message it sounded like they just mentioned the dates but won't be scheduling us until we get an email from their assistant next week. Did they let you pick out a date during the phone call? I'm so worried cause I have conflict on two of the four offered dates!

This happened to me last year. You can't get a refund, but you can contact APPIC and get like a "credit" to apply to another site. (Assuming they haven't changed what they do.)

On a similar note, does the site see the fee or just APPIC? After 15, the fee increased, and I was wondering if sites know they were 16th on the list (in reality their due date was 16th in line, so they got done last).
