Regarding the assessment questions on the USAJobs app, most of them were pretty obvious what the best qualified answer would be except for the ethics one because almost all of the answers covered my experience and it wasn't obvious which would be more preferred than the rest. For example, taking an ethics class, doing ethics research, engaging in ethical practice, etc. I think I selected taking an ethics course but am now worried that research or ethical practice was ranked higher!
 
Has any one received a rejection from the following:
Maryland VA, DC-VA, or Louis Stokes VA? I know that all have issues invites but I have had radio silence so trying to decide if there is still hope!

That one was tricky for me as well. I think I went with ethical practice. I remember going with the first option for the others and the last option for the ethics question

Unfortunately, I doubt I'll be hearing from any programs tonight, so im going to go to bed. After meditation! If anyone is looking for a good meditation app, i highly recommend Insight Timer. It has timed meditation as well as guided, music or not, lots of filters for time and content. I love it, it helps me sleep WAY better. Good night all!

Yes the ethics one was difficult to tell what the "best qualified" response was. I ended up deciding on the ethical practice, as practicing seemed like a higher level of understanding than taking a course. But who knows what they wanted!
 
Regarding the BOP, I knew two people who went through this process last year. They had at least one differing answer on the assessment and both were rated as best qualified. They also told me that we will receive an email that hopefully says, "congratulations you've been determined best qualified". Which I took as we don't need to check the site constantly, unless you enjoy the torture. But, I'm here for all the puppy posts! Best of luck to everyone!

Congrats!! I got a rejection from them, which was a bummer because I did my prac there last year, and I loved it! But I’m happy to answer questions about the site if you have them.

I haven't heard anything from Phoenix VA either. I literally had a dream last night that I received the rejection email, but when I double checked this morning it wasn't there. Also waiting to hear from Missouri Consortium.

I received a rejection from Louis Stokes on 11/20, and someone else in my cohort received one this Thursday, so not sure how they're going about sending out rejections
 
Never heard from EVMS yesterday even though it was their interview notification date. Anyone else in the same boat? Not sure what to make of it and not sure how to proceed. So frustrating!

I posted this in the interview prep thread, but maybe people here have thoughts too..

For people applying with protected research time / more research focused programs

Have you been given a schedule regarding who you are interviewing with? I want to be familiar with potential mentor research but at some of these sites it is vague who the potential mentor would be (e.g., there are multiple people doing research in my area)

Also, do you know the extent to which you need to know your pubs? I have a good amount of pubs (so I don't remember everything about every pub) and I know my more recent ones and first author ones pretty well, but I am afraid I am going to ask a detailed question about some random 5th author pub written in my second year of grad school.

I only applied to more research focused programs. So far, for my December interviews that are around the corner, I have been sent itineraries with who I will be interviewing with in general and what research preceptors will be meeting with me. Many of my other sites have been asking me who I would like to interview with for research (usually the people I indicated in my cover letter). My recommendation is that if you have not been sent an itinerary, put in the work to know the research of the best possible fits that you think you may be meeting with. My DCT said it is incredibly important to know your audience in terms of who you are interviewing with (research preceptors will be totally different than a clinical supervisor who does not do any research and just wants to know about your clinical skills). I would also say it's pretty important to know your own work... maybe download all your pubs and re-familiarize yourself with them on the plane? I plan to do this with some of my pubs from pre-grad school that I haven't looked at in four years! Hope this is helpful.

YES! I use Insight Timer everyday One meditation that is particularly helpful for this process we all find ourselves in is Andy Hobson’s “Acceptance and Letting Go” meditation. Would highly recommend!

Unfortunately I think that's likely 🙁 But since there are few sites and PhD/PsyD programs in Utah, many of the invitees would have to fly to SLC. It's possible they may get more cancelled/rejected invites than the average site because of this, leading them to send out a small set of later invites to fill the rejection slots. I don't mean to get your hopes up unnecessarily though. The end answer is, if you didn't receive one yet you probably won't, but there's a slim possibility of a few more invites going out.
 
I haven't seen University of Massachusetts Medical School/Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital
posted here but I have to imagine I'm not getting an invite since they have Dec 11 listed an a possible interview date and I have not heard anything from them. 🙁 Seems hard to believe they'd have an interview invite on that short notice right?
 
I know a few people waiting on it, so I don't think it's a bad sign that you haven't heard. I thought invites would go out Thursday based on last year! So I suppose it'll be any day now
