"Same here. Someone who attended their ABCT reception said they send out in waves by geographical region but not sure on the time frame. So I'm hoping, but not hopeful..."

Ah a friend from my region received an interview at McLean.... hmmmm... seems like a rejection!

What region?

New Mexico Health Sciences Center...wherefore art thou notifications?

I received An offer to interview there (in person). The offer was sent via a personal email on nov 22. One date offered, January 15th. I am wondering if they only offered me one day because I applied to child clinical and integrated behavior health tracks and I inquired about combining the tracks or how felexible that can be, so I’m assumingthe 15th is offered because it’s an interview day for both tracks.

What is the consensus on APPIC, but not APA accredited sites? I'm waiting on some sites that are just APPIC accredited and was going to apply to more but now I'm not sure..🤔

I strongly recommend not doing that. If a site is a member of APPIC, but not APA accredited then it will be extremely difficult for you to get licensed (if that is what you want to do later in your career). Certainly speak with your TD or a trusted mentor/faculty member before applying to APPIC only member sites. Best of luck!

I agree, I would not recommend either. I think at this point its anxiety talking, which I get. I had an urge to apply to a whole bunch of last minute sites. Trust your original plan and get some mentorship advice.

For those of you waiting for Texas A&M, are yall waiting another day before reaching out? I know the deadline is today, yet in their confirmation of application email, they stated they were moving and may not be able to make the deadline. however, some people have heard from them. Guidance on what yall are doing or what would be best practice?

Hi All! Thrilled to have discovered this forum and also want to share how refreshing it is to see all the encouragement! Alas, none of the 15 sites I applied to have replied yet. *fingers crossed* That said, they aren't listed on the forum yet so I'm not losing hope! *toes crossed*

Quick question. I got married this year and began the tedious process of switching my last name from my maiden name to my married name. All my application materials still list my maiden name, cause ya know, life, but to the rest of the world I am known by my married name. What's the protocol for updating sites? It may just be a personal preference but I also want sites to know who I am and avoid any potential confusion on interview day. If anyone has gone through this process I'd love input!

Congrats on getting married! As a training director, I think it would actually be more confusing if you update your name at this point. Since all of your application materials have your maiden name, I would recommend registering for the match with your maiden name so that it lines up. We're already managing many applicants (and many details!) and I wouldn't want that to cause confusion with the interviewers and finding/ranking you in the system. After matching, I would recommend letting the site know of your name change so they can start the onboarding process with your legal name. Good luck!

Congrats on your marriage! I will be in a similar boat soon and plan to just inform whatever program I do (hopefully) match to of the name change. It's a personal decision, but for me I just thought it would be easier logistically and less confusing per the poster above! I also don't want to open the door to personal questions.

Coatesville VA just sent a mass email to all applicants stating their interview notification date was extended to Friday, Dec 6th as a result of their application deadline having been extended. 100% did not read the subject line and dove into the email panicking that it was a rejection bright and early in the morning. I’m tired, guys 😆

Is anyone else waiting to hear from Pacific Psychology and Comprehensive Clinics (in Portland), Hamm Clinic, or Napa State Hospital?
yes! waiting on Pacific. They didn't update their interview notification date on the APPIC directory - says 12/9/2018. So I'm waiting til Monday to start worrying.

It's great to see that other people are in the same boat! I got married in the past few months and kept my maiden name on my application materials just to streamline the application/match process. After I match, I'll inform them of my name change. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the feedback. That makes a lot of sense!

Hey so I just realized that I'm getting rejected from sites because I notified them that I'm already in a non-APPIC internship. I decided to do an extra year to publish and stuff but I was just notified that it is strongly suggested to not apply to APPIC sites if you're presently in an internship. Whoops!
I don't know how to reconcile this with the fact that my program requires an APPIC internship for graduation? I went the non accredited route because it was paid and the offered extra externship positions were unpaid...

What an expensive mistake.

I thought I should let you all know because no one notified me of this at all so it was extremely confusing and dejecting to get a cascade of rejection emails.

Me right now, with my submitted applications:

Why did you think this would be a good idea? I spent less than one minute Googling this and found the APPIC FAQ page, which explicitly recommends against this approach to internship: Is it possible for me to complete two internships? For example, if I accept a non-accredited internship this year, can I apply for a second, accredited internship the following year?

Just got this email from UAB-BVAMC:

"The UAB-BVAMC Clinical Psychology Internship Consortium has recently completed the reaccreditation process. Unfortunately, we received notification that the program is being placed on probation related to not meeting standards for training in supervision and research and not properly assessing recent graduates. We will be addressing the issues in the coming months and expect that needed data as well as training in supervision and research will be implemented to meet standards. That said, we will not be able to assure applicants that they will match to an accredited program during this cycle. The training faculty and leadership are fully committed to having full accreditation reinstated when the next training year begins. We understand that this may have a negative impact on your decision regarding coming for interview as well as ranking the program. Please know that you may withdraw your application; if you wish to do so, please let us know so that we can plan interviews accordingly."

Has anybody heard from the MUSC/Charleston Consortium child or trauma tracks? I know they've sent some invites and that they send invites on a rolling basis, but I haven't been able to pin down yet on what basis they are rolling 😛

I am also waiting to hear back on these two tracks. I assumed it was a reject because other tracks have been notified, but maybe not!
