APPIC Internship Interview Invitation Thread (2020)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I need to vent again! I can't with the sites who already sent interviews 20 days ago and have not sent rejections. Why? Why? Is it rejection? Is it a form of wait-list?
I agree the lack of waiting is tough. One reason I find it challenging is that I am holding off on making my travel arrangements for January, in case I need to squeeze in another interview. Would be nice to go ahead and cement some of my plans, arrange pet sitters, etc. But, I'm trying to embrace radical acceptance. I will make it work somehow 🙂

Yes I’m in the same boat!

Congrats on the interview! We are almost there. It’s just a slightly slower process for some of us.

Thank you! Fortunately I woke up to another interview so things are definitely moving along. We’re almost there. Good luck to you!

Has anyone heard from University of Texas at Dallas? Their notification date is no where to be found! Wasn’t on appic or their website/brochure. Is it safe for me to assume the 15th as the deadline?

Congratulations. The staff is amazing!

Has anyone heard from Kaiser Walnut Creek? the deadline listed on APPICs website is for today but I still haven't heard anything. I am tempted to email the TD if other students have heard back from them either for an interview or rejection.

I got an invite from them this morning at 1 am

Sorry to ask again - but has anyone heard back from Orlando VA yet about confirming requested interview date?

Has anyone heard anything from Vanderbilt Medical Center Child and Adolescent Track or Penn State Medical School in Hershey?

And are people still receiving invites for MUSC's general, traumatic stress, or Child psychology tracks? I know this site sends rolling invites, but I'm dying to know if people are still getting invites this late in the game for those tracks? If you have received an invite in December, can you post when you received it?

Thank you!!

Also, I know someone mentioned that Orlando VA sent out invites in two waves last year. I still have heard nothing positive or negative from them. Anyone else in the same boat?!

Is anyone else still waiting to hear from Aurora Community Mental Health Center? Should I be counting this as a rejection if I haven't heard back yet?

I'm waiting to hear back. Applied to both adult and child/family tracks. Telling myself it's not a rejection until I receive the official rejection
I'm also waiting! I'm trying to not assume anything is a rejection until I get a rejection. I've been just keeping an "if it's a good match, then I'll get an interview, if not, then not" (and then I go back and forth between that mentality and overwhelming anxiety - it's like one of those fun pirate ship rides at the fair, ya know, where half the people puke by the end...)

Do sites send out interviews for specific tracks on different days?

Has anyone heard from Carle Foundation Hospital?
I checked threads from previous and they seem to take until their notification deadline (12/13) to send out invites.

Weird thing about them is that they do a Saturday interview.

Do sites send out interviews for specific tracks on different days?

Some sites do. I know for sure UCLA-Semel sent out track-specific invites on different days, with peds going first, then gero, then neuro, etc. Other sites may have the same system.

I received an invite on December 2nd for MUSC! I applied to all of those tracks but the invite wasn't track specific.

Has anyone who was invited to FCC Butner heard back from the scheduling person yet?

Has anyone received official rejections from KKI's Trauma Track, Lucile Packard, and/or Colorado School of Medicine's JFK Track?

I got an email yesterday saying they weren’t going to offer me an interview, but would contact me if a spot opened up. They contacted me again today offering an interview. I applied to the adult track.

Hope you get some good news!

I am still waiting on these tracks at MUSC but I counted at it as a rejection in my head at this point. I think their deadline is Monday. Good luck to you!

no official rejection from Lucile Packard but I know people have received invites. Also still waiting on an official rejection from CHOC

Rejection from CSU Long Beach CAPS. Ah well. Can’t win ‘em all.

Thank you! You as well! I also assume it's a rejection but am sort of curious if they go through the applications in the order they receive them. I submitted mine close to the deadline so I also wonder if it's possible they legitimately are still going through apps.

Yay congrats and thanks for updating!

Still waiting to hear back with confirmation too.

Okay that makes me feel better. I got an automated response yesterday that the person was out of town, so I followed up at COB yesterday just to make sure it went through. And then started worrying since I hadn't heard - but glad I'm not alone lol
