A rant: I honestly hate this process. I have been wrong a lot, received invites from very competitive sites while being rejected from less competitive ones. I am starting to freak out and already thinking I will need to go to phase 2. I just wish they would not make us spiral like this. I’m very disappointed and upset today.

I think I get the hatred. I think I have reached a place of not caring. Not excited, not stressed, not worried, not hopeful, I mean just flat out don't care. I've just redirected the overwhelming majority of my resources and attention to other tasks that are more engaging and just can't pretend to find this process interesting anymore. The process is too nonsensical and I don't know if that's worse this year or normative, but who cares either way?! Someone asked me for an update the other day and I think I seriously freaked them out by saying something like 'why would I be paying attention to that right now?' Its like its assumed that I'm supposed to be consumed by nothing else and I don't like that at all.

I’m constantly teetering between compulsively checking my email and avoiding it for fear that it’ll be another rejection or to spare myself the frustration/impatience/annoyance of having no new emails.
I second this and add: it should be ILLEGAL to send any emails unrelated to internship WHATSOEVER during this entire process. I turned off email notifications on my phone because I could feel my blood pressure skyrocket every time I got an email, and most of them were random emails from my program/department. 😫

I noticed that the earliest emails were coming in were at 3:30pm so I try to only look after that time. Even knowing that, I am still compulsively checking every half hour. Maybe it will help others more than it has helped me lol.

FBOP Allenwood folx - has anyone tried calling the HR department as instructed on the OF-5 form to schedule an interview? I just did and the individual's voicemail box said he will not be back in the office until February. Did anyone else experience this? I'm not sure what to do now

Ah - I called again and he answered and said he wasn't sure why his voicemail says that, so all good!

“Dear Applicants,
Thank you so much for your interest in our program. We look forward to meeting you.” And the rejection letter attached 🙈 Now singing to myself: “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger...” 😂
Oh goodness. I had a site say "Dear Name that isn't my name," (my name was not even close to that name). They then proceeded to send me the correct name in a new rejection form a few hours later. I got the point the first time, there's no need to reject me twice in one day.

Yikes. If it were me I would probably double-check that they meant to send me that attachment...(Unless the rest of the email made it clear it was a rejection also.) Sorry - I can only imagine the heart leap/stomach drop combo there 😕

I got this too and was like wwwwwaaah 😭. Left a VM, emailed them and the TD.

I get so irrationally angry at irrelevant emails my from school 🤣

I wonder if applicants in the past used to compulsively check their physical mailbox like we all do with emails now 🤔
I can just imagine walking outside every 5-minutes to check to see if the mail came for the day
Hahaha, I can imagine myself moving my whole work desk to my front porch and just camp there for 4-weeks straight 😉

The TD at Allenwood told me we don't need to contact HR and that the form just says that because it's a generic form for all positions. She said we should just wait for someone to call us to schedule the CVA. Did you hear something different from HR?

I just got a call today from a psychologist with the BOP. Essentially just introducing herself as the main point of contact for scheduling the CVA. She asked if I already received the OF-5 form (which I did and returned) so, I think they're all operating on somewhat separate schedules. We didn't actually schedule the CVA yet because she doesn't have all the info they need (on their end) but was mostly calling just to introduce herself :] I'm sure you'll all get similar calls soon!
