I am currently applying for the second time (w/ no hope of getting in b/c of my low GPA) and AADSAS asks for the latest DAT score and the scores of each section individually as well as the date of the future DAT. I thought maybe I could wait until I take the DAT, which would be in 4 or 5 months from now and then apply. But some schools have or highly recommend submitting the applications soon for ex. no later than March 1st for UOP. So I was wondering if I could leave the section asking for the latest DAT (which I took last year) blank since that’s one main reason why I didn’t get in, submit the appl. And then send the schools my DAT score after taking it. I don’t want to give them My last year’s DAT score right there, on my appl. Since it’s going to leave a very bad impression. Can someone help me out here plz?

I don't think you can leave it blank. Also- taking your DAT's in four or five months is really late. You should think about taking it earlier- August at the latest, especially if your stats are low. Some people on here have had pretty high stats, but since they submitted their app. late, they didn't get in. So in your case try to take it earlier and think positive!! Good luck:luck:

Can't you just put down the date of your future DAT test and leave it at that!?!? Also take the DAT sooner man, if you want to get in you can't delay that. Schools will be waiting to see your score....

OK, I'll try to take the DAT earlier, but yea, that's what I'm wondering too can't I just write the date of the future DAT and sumbit it, then take the exam?

Shal 3, yes...you should be able to put down the future date of when you are going to take the DAT and submit your app. That is what I did at least! But I think if you have taken it before you should also out down whatever your scores were from that test down, as well.

that's the problem, if I put down thse scores I used for my last year's appl. that's going to have a really bad impression, so can I ONLY say the date for the future DAT and leace the other parts blank or should I wait until I take the DAT in Sept. and then submit my appl?

Dental schools will not even look at ur app until you send them ur dat scores, since ur file is incomplete. I would go ahead and E-submit it.

OK, so I will e-submit it but my question is can I ONLY say the date for the future DAT and leave the other parts about latest DAT score blank? I don't want to give the scores I used for last year's appl. (were very low) but at the same time I don't want them to think I'm trying to lie or something? so would it be OK not to fill out those old DAT score parts?

Someone plz help me out here!

From what I understand, it doesn't matter if you put it or not because they will get your old scores as well when they receive the new ones...and supposedly they're supposed to wait for your new scores before they evaluate your application...so sending old scores shouldn't be detrimental...if you don't send them i would think it could harm you if you are purposely "omitting" the old scores......
