Applicants from the Same Area

Hello!
Current applicant here for this cycle. Just wondering if you guys have any insight to applicants who are from the same area. We are both from a very rural area, and they have already been accepted. (He also turned in his application/secondary way before I did). Still currently waiting for a decision pre-interview for me.

Do you think it matters to admissions that we both are from the same place? Just need some opinions.
