Hey y'all,
I have a question once again. Most of the medical schools I have researched say "Application deadline: Nov 1" or something. Does this generally mean AMCAS deadline or is the deadline for AMCAS and secondaries as well.
The reason I ask this is because I submitted my AMCAS. I have a 3.75 on my AMCAS with strong extracurriculars (Hospice, Big Brothers/Sisters, Medical Term Abroad in the UK, Neth, and Hungary, Psychiatric research assistant, surgical and family practice observer, radio DJ, rugby player, Phi Beta Kappa, etc.) but I got a 29S on my MCAT (6VR, 12BS, 11PS, S WS). I really want to retake to get that damn VR score up. Does this mean that I am gonna be thrown in the same pile of applications as the applicants who have taking their MCATs in August for the first time? Can people who have not taken the MCAT still submit the AMCAS and do secondaries, and then have their MCATs sent to the schools or do they have to wait once they get their MCATs to send in their AMCAS? I know I'm sounding paranoid, but now I have this grave fear that I am gonna be really late in the admissions cycle even though my secondaries will be in before I get my MCAT scores. Most likely the Aug MCAT scores will come in mid-late October, but that is really late. Can anybody shed some light on this issue; please give me the cold, hard facts on the matter. Thanks a lot folks. <img border="0" alt="[Pity]" title="" src="graemlins/pity.gif" />
