application help - signed letter of recommendation?

I am using Interfolio to gather some letters of recommendation early and store them for my application next summer. I am not sure if I should specify that I need a SIGNED letter of recommendation or not. I don't want to inconvenience anyone who may have difficulty uploading a signed letter. Is it the norm to request a signed one? Or does it not really matter? Thanks 🙂

Also, should I request a "confidential" letter (where I will not be able to see the letter) or does it matter?

Yep. Always. If they didn't, it would be a reminder and they can digitally sign it then.
