My anatomy & physiology 2 class was under the kinesiology department, with the code KINS 3040. Is it still considered a bio class? It was real deal A&P2, 4.5 credit. It would suck if it isn't in my sGPA

Also, what is more core credit speech class considered by AMCAS? Other?

The course classification guide says kinesiology courses fall under Health Sciences, not Biology. You can try to classify it as Biology and see what happens, but I'm not sure how they'll code it when they verify.

I have no idea what that means. But public speaking classes were under the Communication department at my university.

Sorry, typo.

That would truly suck if A&P isn't considered bio. If they don't accept it as a bio class, will my application be delayed so I can correct it?

They'll correct it for you. May take a little longer, but it's hard to say. Some people's applications seem to take longer to verify for no particular reason.

Ok. Thank you kindly anonymous Internet sir or madam.

It doesn't delay by much unless you have a large number of errors. Ultimately, AMCAS has a fairly comprehensive list of BCPM and non-BCPM classes, but applicants are trusted to make the decision as to how to list a course based on its content.

From aamc, page 9, instruction book:
Academic Change Requests

AMCAS requires that you review verified coursework and GPA information. If you find discrepancies, or you disagree with changes made during the verification process, you are responsible for submitting an Academic Change Request within ten days from the date AMCAS processing is complete. The Academic Change Request option is available on the right side of the Main Menu. To submit an Academic Change Request, select one of the following reasons:

 Recompute the following GPA/hours
 Reverify the following courses
 Add the following courses
 Delete the following courses
 Update the following school information

In the accompanying text block, please be specific about your request and explain in detail why you are requesting this change to your AMCAS application. Multiple requests may be entered in the text block.

AMCAS will change or correct:

 GPAs
 Academic Status
 Course Classification: When requesting a course classification change, please copy
and paste the course description from the school's website and include the URL
where it can be found.

Could schools change the course classification after AMCAS has verified it? Some of my KIN (biomechanics) courses have been classified as Physics and I'm not sure if all schools will go by this or still require me to take additional general physics courses....
