I just sent in my AADSAS and was wondering about when to send my letters of rec, fee, etc. to the dental schools. Some want it at the same time as your AADSAS and some only when they contact you. I wanted to know if I should send in my stuff or wait for the adcoms to contact me???? What did you guys do??

I haven't taken the DAT yet but will soon and just wanted to have my file as complete as possible. How should I go about sending in the app fee, lor's, etc.?? Also, how long has it taken for your AADSAS # to be mailed or made available through the phone??

I hope someone can "break it down" for me cuz i am stressin!! Sorry for the 20 q's but I just wanna get it right!!

The dental schools wants the letter of rec and the transcripts and their fees as soon as they received the AADSAS application. I just sent my application now. I guess it will take them a few weeks to send it to the dental schools, so at the mean time, send all the letter of rec and transcripts right away. (you can do it through AADSAS' service).

After you take your DAT, you will have to fill a form with the additional schools that you want the send the score to, of course, with the money order.. The form is in the DAT's website. This process will take a few weeks also. So do it as soon as you finish your test.

These are all I know, hope this helps.

THANX FOR THE INFO OHGEE!! I guess i wasn't too clear so here goes...... Now that i have sent the AADSAS application online, do I wait for the schools to contact me or should i go ahead and send out all of the materials?? I don't know if the schools would acutally process my app when they said that they will themselves contact us.

Are you guys just sending out all of the Lor's, fees, etc., to every school that you applied to regardless of what they said on their website?? OR are you waiting for some schools to get back to you??

Any help from current applicants as well as previous applicants will be helpful, THANKS!!!!!

It takes about 5-6 weeks to process your application. So you have some time. I personally picked like 17 schools when I submitted AADSAS ( I was in a rush to submit it). Now since all of my schools have my AADSAS application I sent in checks to my top 6-8 choices. The rest are on hold until I get my DAT scores and if I don't get accepted by Dec. 1. So in a way I am doing my own "batch" system. I did lose some money, but I guess it is better to be safe than sorry. Besides it's cheaper to apply to schools in one shot than reapply and pay 75 bucks to add in a school and wait anothe two months.

I would send in the money immediately with a note stating you just submitted your AADSAS application, etc etc.

Hope this helps.

Send the stuff in as early as possible. I actually sent stuff to the schools a few weeks before submitting the AADSAS. As somebody who now has a couple interviews lined up, I can tell you that it pays to get stuff done early.
