If you're applying to med school this year, or sometime in the future, consider starting your journal now! Keeping a journal makes the brainstorming process a breeze. Log details while they're fresh in your mind. Did you have a meaningful conversation with a patient? A confrontation with a collaborator? How did those interactions feel? What actions did you take, if any? Are there results to share? Pursue opportunities worth writing about; get involved in health equity and social justice causes and take on more responsibility in a student club. Challenge yourself.
