Application to colleges when on visitiors visa

i finished my bds form andhra,India in aug 2011.planning on giving nbde in march end.have came here on visitors visa as my parents live here.i was wondering tht after the exam,can i apply from india?wht is the procedure if so?do i need to come bak to us for the interview or can i attend it form india?can any1 who had given the ndbe on visitors visa and got into a college please guide me.
