So I screwed up... Way back when I was crafting and submitting my applications for MD programs, I have asked for letters of recommendation. I have six in total, one pre-med committee from the university I did my DIY post-bac, two from ER physicians I closely work with in the ED, and three from science faculty. I suppose that the letters are strong.
However, I forgot to ask for a letter of recommendation from the nursing home where I have volunteered for the past 3.5 years. I put this as one of my three most significant experiences on AMCAS.
I have interviews coming up in 2-4 weeks and I am wondering if I should update my application by adding this letter. It will be a strong letter. Should I do it now? Would it have any influence on my application now, in terms of acceptance?
Thank you for your consideration.
Edit: There is one risky part to it. The activities coordinator has never written a letter of rec (for some unknown reason pre-meds don't volunteer at nursing homes here). She got together with a few residents and they are writing the letter.
