I found out that I was accepted for the gernal track at St. John's today. Dr. Bergman called me this morning. I will probably decline...I'm debating now between Drexel and Kent State.

They said that they were going to meet Monday and start contacting people this week. I called yesterday and was told that the initial offers have gone out (letters and a phone call) I did not get an initial offer. Bummer!!! However they did not reject me either they said that as people decline their accpetabce they will move down the list and make additional offers. I was told that I still have a good chance (whatever that means). Anyways I will keep you posted. I am a little bummed out but I am keeping optimistic.

El Cap~ Any further word from RFUMS? I haven't recieved replies from ANYONE I've contacted via email, which I find sort of odd/troubling. I assume when you called you talked to the professor you wanted to work with?

There has not been much news from them at all? I did call and talk with someone in admissions who said that I have not been rejected and that they were waiting for movement and I still had a shot at getting an acceptance. That's about it? I am going to call on Monday and over the weekend I am going to e-mail the 2 professors I was interested in working with. I will keep you posted. What other programs are you waiting on? Good luck!!

I've been emailing the professor that I'm interested in working with and haven't gotten a response. If (crossing fingers, knocking on wood) I get an offer in the next week from somewhere else, I'll be calling to check and see about my status. Do you think I should call the same professor or someone in admissions (and is that the admissions for the entire school or the clinical admissions?)? It seems sort of strange not to receive ANY contact from them after interviews.

I did get an email yesterday from George Mason saying that I've been moved to the "High Alternate" list and it's highly likely that I'll be getting an offer next week. This is all sort of a scramble for me because I had been getting really positive feedback from another school--my favorite school--after I interviewed ("being highly considered", nominated for the highest fellowship they offer, etc.), but I just found out a couple of days ago that they aren't going to make me an offer. So what I thought was pretty certain now appears to be anything but! :scared:

I am sorry to hear about your favorite school. I wonder what happened? Did they actually e-mail or mail you and tell you were going to get an offer / fellowship? What a bummer. Hopefully you will get into George Mason. That is a great program. If you got into both Geroge Mason and RFUMS which would you choose?

As far as RFUMS goes, I would call 847-578-3209 or you can call the Psychology admin. assistant at 847-578-3305. You can aske where you stand and what your chances are. You may be in the same boat as me where they are still holding onto us as backup for others who do not take the acceptance. Anyways good luck! Keep me posted and I will let you know if I hear anything

I'm thinking about applying to the Drexel clinical program (not the JD/PhD) at some point, and I'm wondering what their funding situation is like. I had trouble finding specific info on their website. Do they offer a tuition waiver and stipend? Is it a reasonable package?

Thanks for any info you can throw my way...

Hi Konrad-

From what I've been told, they offer a full tuition remission for all students and at least a $7K stipend to all students. Some students get more than that contingent on their mentor's funding through grants and such. Some students also have paid practica starting in the 2nd year (dependent on the site, not the school). After the master's thesis you are eligible to teach which pays $3K per term (they are on the quarter system, with 4 11-week terms). The DCT told me they cannot gaurantee the funding because the university does it's budgeting each year and they can't really look ahead the next 3-4 years to be able to gaurantee the money. BUT, the DCT told me that they've been giving the tuition remission and at least $7K to every student for the last 4-5 years and they hope to raise the funding to $12K each.

Hope this helps.

Well it looks like none of it matters anyways--my favorite school actually got back to me today with an offer of acceptance and the big fellowship! Though I imagine most of the money I get will go towards therapy after these past few months 😀 !! I'm so excited!

(Also, I did call RFUMS who also told me I was on the wait list and that they still had people who haven't accepted yet. Although she didn't get my name, so I assume that everyone who interviewed was waitlisted--unless that's sort of the party line right now as it gets closer to the 15th. So there's still possibly openings for you, and if they told you you're high on the list, there's still a good shot! Best of luck!)

I thought that something sounded weird about your favorite school telling you were in and to expect an acceptance and then rejecting you. It obviously was a mess up and now you are in!!! What great news!! You have to be excited. Good Luck!!!

Thanks all! It's the University of Arkansas, and there were some issues surrounding funding, so it was touch and go for quite awhile. But, whew!! :horns:
