Hi all,

I was just wondering if any current DO students who applied late in the application cycle and were accepted would share 1) how the application was and 2) when the acceptance was received.

Thanks,
rose 13 🙂

Rose13,
I am a second year a LECOM and I do not know any current applicants personally however, if the late applicant that you refer to is yourself I would apply as soon as possible to the schools that you want to go to. My reasoning being: 1) that at least they will know of you next time you apply 2) it is not so late that you have no shot 3) you may also be able to get into a post-bacc program instead of waisting next year.
Of course you will have to fill out another application for the post-bacc but I assuming you really want to do this and time spent on applications and cost at this point is not a huge problem.
If you are going to do this now though you have to act fast and move quickly meaning everything should be received by acomas within the next week or so. Then you need to stay on top of them to make sure your information has been processed. Send the app. certified or registered and overnight.

hey, not that i would recomend this route...but i applied extremely late to both pcom and nycom.... i actually had to hand deliver my application to pcom cause it would not have gotten there in time if i mailed it... so needless to say i was one of the last interviews at both schools ....but anyway... i got an interview and accepted at both schools... but it shows that everyone that interviews has a chance of getting in.... and dont let wait lists scare you either.... if you make the wait list there is a really good chance of getting in....the problem with that is that you usually wont find out until much closer to the time school starts. hope this was a little helpfull😴

I submitted my primary the day before the deadline. Applied for two schools, WUHS-COMP and NYCOM, got secondaries within in a week or two, submitted those within a week of getting them, interviewed end or March or early April (can't quite recall). Got waitlisted at WUHS-COMP got accepted four weeks before classes started. Still waiting for NYCOM. So there is hope when you apply late in the cycle just make it before deadlines.

I had applied early decision to a certain old boys' club, I mean medical school, in philadelphia, and didn't get in, my appls went out in november or december, I got into three places, interviewed around march-april.
I wouldn't worry about your applications late, but there are some places where I didn't even get an interview, although in total I had 9 interviews (MD and DO).

hope this helps.

my application was received really close to the deadline. When I interviewed, they only had alternate positions left, and I got in🙂
I wouldn't reccommend it, but it is possible!

Late applicants should look to the new PBL program at LECOMs new campus south of Tampa.

Why do you feel that this school is easier to get accepted to? Or is it because they have extra seets available?

I have a friend here at UHS who applied a couple weeks before the deadline and interviewed in Late May.

Is this new campus similar to the one in NSUCOM? Because of the nearness of LECOM-florida and NSUCOM, do you think both schools will collaborate and/or share resources?
