Apply before I take the OATS?

Wanted to know if I should apply now for this cycle before I take the OATS since I've been reading to "apply early." My grades are on the little low side so im scared without a decent OAT score to go with that application they might trash me before waiting to see my scores. Any Advice?

yes you can apply before taking the OATs. just make sure you take them before november

You should most Definately apply now because after taking the oats you really don't feel like doing anything at all. You could atleast fill out the apps without submiting it until you finish your test. And also start getting those LORs in because those take the longest to get in. I don't know if other applicants had this problem, but I know that after my oats I just wanted to relax. Maybe because I stressed over it all summer.

i agree you should apply early, i asked a few schools and they all say the same thing. but for me, i waited until i took my OAT to submit most applications. i thought it was just too much work/stress to be worrying about writing an essay and all that while trying to cram for the test. but then again i was on a tight schedule. maybe when you're sick of studying you can fill out the applications?

I applied to a school and had my interview before I took the OAT. The school that I attend will do interviews before OAT scores are in.

I took all of my pre-reqs in one year and wanted to wait to take the OAT until I was further into those classes.

I applied in January, had an interview at the end of January, took the OAT in March and was accepted in March. I faxed them my OAT scores so they could make the decision faster (they eventually got the official scores).

I wasn't worried about my GPA, but I still imagine it would be better to apply early unless your GPA is extremely low and you need your OAT scores to boost your application.

Hey,
I am taking my OAT nov 3rd. I should have all my apps done this week. Do you think that is ok is still take it nov 3rd or is there a cutoff that I'm not aware of?

Send in your applications asap! Don't wait to take your OAT to get your applications in. Many schools will interview you before taking the OAT. Although I would say that taking the OAT before you interview is very helpful for the school. So send in the applications when you can and take the OAT as soon as you can too. Nov. 3rd should be fine, but contact the schools you are applying to and find out for sure for each school.
