So I am planning on getting my app out asap. my cGPA is 3.47 and sGPA 3.41 according to AACOMAS. I got a 24P last year but do plan on taking the test again on Aug 4th...I have been told to send my app out to one school and get it verified since it takes 4-6 weeks and wait on the retake score and then add more schools. but also been told to apply broadly by some ppl....After reading the underdog thread, i feel like there is a small chance i may get an interview with my stats but I am not sure..I am just concerned that if I wait till getting my score in september and THEN getting a primary out to some schools then it def may be too late....So should i just apply broadly now to a bunch of schools and hope that some will send me secondaries and then work on them right after my mcat....or just apply to one school and add all the other schools on my primary after september...with the first situation i could have all secondaries done by october but with the second situation it would obviously be later..😕
any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!

I'll let someone else help you out with the apply broadly question but you should look through the school specific threads from last year. Many of them have the prompts for the secondaries listed. Secondaries tend not to change very much year to year so this can allow you to quickly put out your secondaries to the schools when your new MCAT score drops.

What are your current practice scores? If they are significantly higher, apply broadly. If not, different advice. What do you realistically think you could score in august?

It just depends if you plan on applying no matter what your mcat score... if you don't do too hot and want to withdraw your app, you only have to explain to one school about it, whereas if you apply broadly from the start, and you don't like your score, you will have to explain to 10+ schools that you are withdrawing your app. I say go off how confident you feel with your practice exam scores...

I feel like you're the person we keep telling to wait until next year to apply because your score is going to come out late & you have no guarantees that it will be better... However, I applied without my MCAT to all my schools June first & was autoscreened out by some, but then sent secondaries when the score updated...

haha yes well i have been told by some people to just not apply and by others to apply so im just torn...i guess nobody wants to wait...I havent taken a practice test i a while but def using TBR, TPR this time to study with EK so hoping to score in 28-29 range atleast....trying to be an underdog??:xf::xf::xf:

Not sure how accurate the TPR tests are, so I really can't say if that's close to what you'll really get... it's up to you, but being a reapplicant isn't a good thing... better to knock it out of the park the first time...

apply now and list that you are taking it again. apply broadly. dont want to put all your eggs in one basket

Unless your parents are the dean or head of admissions at the one school, apply broadly. Imagine the cost of missing one year in practice

You're pretty competitive even at 24P, to be honest, assuming your ECs are in check. Apply broadly. No reason not to... just don't toss out an app at a school you A) can't afford to go and interview at or B) won't attend if accepted.
