Hi guys! I was planning on taking my DATs at the end of May and then applying to dental schools in early June. However, I'm definitely not ready for my DATs and I feel really rushed while trying to manage my classes, extracurriculars, applications, and DATs. Do dental schools find it acceptable if you apply in early June, but take the DATs at the end of June and therefore send out the scores later? Would it put a hold on my application, if I don't have DAT scores included? I have decent cumulative and science GPAs, about 3.85 and 3.7 respectively and I'm hoping that somehow buffers for missing scores. Thanks!!! =]

Yes, submit everything else as early as possible. Some schools will not consider your application complete until your DATs come in but otherwise, I would get everything else in asap. You definitely can have your GPA calculated and LORs sent in way earlier than end of June.

Yes it will. If you are taking the DAT in late June, aadsas will receive your official scores about 3-4 weeks later. This means your application won't be ready till around mid-late July.

IMO, Mid-july is still somewhat okay and probably hitting the upper limits of still being early.... I think your planning is just fine.

Good luck on your DATs, with a GPA like that, any score of 19AA and higher will look good
