Apply top 25?

I think 9 on verbal will be a killer for top 25s. When you look up medical schools on MSAR, make sure they give acceptances to people with 9 on the verbal. Most top notch schools will have only their bottom 10% with 9 on the verbal section. Majority will have 10 or higher

I think top 25 is worth the shot, though maybe lean towards the lower end. A 9 on verbal, although will hurt, is not an end all by any means.

Many T25 schools have a 9 in VR as their 10th percentile.

Hello everyone. I'm trying to figure out where to apply out of state. I figure a lot of people on here are just as neurotic about where to apply as I am so I'm hoping for some solid advice on specifically where to apply or in general how to make the list.

A brief overview of my application:
3.90 GPA, 3.98 sGPA Biomedical Engineering
12 P, 9 V, 14 B for 35 MCAT (not going to retake)
-Good research in a physiology lab and in a biomedical engineering lab with no publications
-Good volunteering (entirely clinical)
-Good EC's with a leadership position
-Shadowed 8 doctors
-Miscellaneous other stuff like Spanish-speaking, piano, international mission trips

^^by "good" I mean significant but not anything that many others applying to a top 25 are going to have.

I understand there is a lot more to be considered for an actual acceptance (personal statement, letters, secondaries, etc.) and that I am limited by my verbal score and my lack of anything extraordinary.

I'm going to apply to about 15 schools with in-state UF, Miami, USF, and UCF being my priorities. However, would I be wasting my time to apply to a few top 25 schools for my out-of-state choices? If not, how do I pick which schools I'll have the best chance at? Cost and location will probably influence my decision but don't take that into account.

Thanks! And good luck to anyone else dealing with this right now lol
If you have the funds, go for it! Use the MSAR to help pick schools.

OP isn't a 10th percentiler.

Worth a shot if you can afford it. Just don't expect to get accepted everywhere.

Overall, no. But he was concerned about his verbal score being lower, which it is still at the 10th percentile for many top schools.
