I am applying after 3 years of undergrad education. I have already received interviews at schools. If I receive notification of an acceptance during December, is it necessary to finish the next semester? I won't be getting a Bachelor's degree anyway. I was just wondering if anyone KNEW for sure the policy on this.

i am doing the same thing you are doing. i believe that 90 credits are required before starting taking courses in dental school because you will get a bachelor degree after completing your first year in univ of michigan dental school.

yeah see that's what i thought, but then i saw that the formal minimum for all these schools is two years. i have no idea, i guess i'll wait until i have to "worry" about that.

No matter what they want at least 90 credits. And if you enroll for Spring, but don't need the credits audit the classes. I have a friend in Med school who had to take some upper Biology and was told that she has to keep her GPA. She audited all those classes, went to class, but didn't have to worry about doing all the work. She just started and says that those classes really helped.

Congratulations for already getting interviews, you must be a very gifted student!

Would you share with us your stats? Thanks and good luck! :luck:

I'm applying a year early as well. So far, I've only interviewed at UAB and they said that its very rare for someone to get in after just 3 years, so we'll see what happens. I do know that pretty much any school that accepts you is going to want you to have at least the 90 hours of undergrad before you matriculate. Good luck to both of you!

uab accepted students with bachelor degree in 2004

I am doing the same thing but I will receive a degree in the three years. Some schools state stipulations in there acceptance letters that you have to maintain a certain GPA or maybe that you have to be enrolled in school and be taking classes. So after you get your acceptance call them up. I wouldn’t call right now as it might have a negative impact of how they see your application.
Good luck.

An acceptance letter is not a legally binding document, nor is your deposit, nor is you showing up to orientation, buying your equipment and being in school for a month. If most schools found out at any point that you decided once you were accepted you could stop trying, your ass would be out of that school so fast... Every school asks for a final transcript, many because they require that you finish a degree and the only verifiable place for this is on an official final transcript, but also because they need to make sure you maintain your GPA and finish all your courses, especially the requisites. I think most schools would frown upon and question someone even if they already had their degree and dropped out of some bull$hit electives in the spring. You need to show commitment to academics if you expect them to teach you for four years.
