can applying early be bad? i mean everyone said apply early but i see that now in mid April people with low pcats and gpa's are getting in, are the schools filling in slots or what.

i dont see why apply early can be bad. If its rolling admissions you definitely want to apply early. It is only to your advantage to apply early

PLEASE READ: PHARMCAS IS AN AWFULLY SLOW ORGANIZATION!!!

What most students do not realize is that even if you submit everything to PharmCAS by the stated deadline, its not as if the documents are made available to the school the very next day for their review. PharmCAS then begins to go through authentication process and bits and pieces become available over time. Unfortunately for some students who met January 1 deadlines, their information never even made it to their schools of choice until mid-march, long after most of the schools had conducted interviews and were at minimum in the process of mailing out acceptances. Granted, not many students get caught up in such a drawn out process, but it is an awful nerve wracking time for those who do.

I suggest that if you can submit your materials to PharmCAS the day the new application cycle begins, do it. Do not wait!

Applying early is always good. You never know what kind of delays you may have with LORs, transcripts, etc.

It would be a good idea to get a lot of your stuff together now so you're ready right when PharmCAS opens in June.

as long as you're not compensating the quality of your application just so you can submit it early, then there's no harm at all. (i.e. if you know you're ps could be better after more revisions, but you submit it anyway because you want to send it asap, then it may harm you.) other than that, no

If you apply early and get accepted early, you can plan for next year early and your future early.

I plan to apply as early as i can and just do an academic update when the fall semester is over, as some schools want the fall grades 1st and others dont.
