I applied in mid-January of 2009 for this cycle.

Do you know anyone else who has applied around this time and what there results were?

I applied to 4 schools, already been rejected by 2.

you need to give us some more information if you want our opinion... as acceptances aren't solely dictated by when you apply. My guess is unless you have stellar stats you probably won't get in this cycle

Yes, you need to give us your stats, state of residence, schools you applied to and etc.

I applied to 17 schools, 14 in June 2008 and the other 3 in January 2009. My only acceptance so far has been one that I applied to in January. I do not have stellar stats and I really think it depends on the whole package and not just your stats. I guess the question is whether you have had interviews or not and where you have applied? I am not sure if schools are still interviewing (I think UDM might be?). I hope the best for you and good luck!

CA Resident here, applied to 23 schools on November 15th, applications got to the schools on December 3rd, 3.04 sGPA, 22AA, research, shadowing, and I got accepted to 3 schools so far, so it definitely is possible to get in if you apply late.

I applied in November and it was sent out Nov. 24th. I am accepted to one school and waitlisted on another. However if you haven't received an invitation to an interview by now, it's best to start planning for the next cycle.

yeah yeah...I know someone who applied mid november and got a bunch of interviews too and from teh way he was talking his stats were lower than mine.

I'm not trying to be a dick here...In fact thanks for replying and sharing that.

But at the same time, there is a HUGE difference between mid november and mid january

As a side note, I starting to wonder if my LORs were really bad.

I think it probably has to do more with timing and which schools you applied to than your stats, which are great. I read somewhere on SDN that adcoms know the UCLA undergrad is tough so they take that into consideration as well, so it doesn't really make sense that you wouldn't get anything until you factor in the timing. I had most of my interviews in January and lots of schools interview then and in February and March, but maybe the schools you applied to happened be done by the time they got to you. Where'd you apply?
