Hello all! I will be submitting my application this week. Here are my stats:

3.7 cGPA
3.8 sGPA

22AA, 22TS, 20PAT and 16QR

Do you guys think I would be throwing out my money if I applied to Columbia, Harvard or Penn this late in the cycle?? I'm trying to save some money and I have 10 other schools that I want to apply to just in case I can't get into my state school. This is my second year applying and my dat scores for the first DAT were 17AA, 18TS and 19PAT, not sure if schools would look at that.

I would appreciate any feedback.

Thank you so much!

The timing is not ideal, but you should be fine. Speaking from personal experience (applied late last cycle - September), I got accepted to great dental schools, received no rejection, and I had to decline interview invites from other schools.

Your GPA and improved DAT scores are good. Do apply to more schools than your state school. You should be able to score yourself a few interview invites (post December). Acceptance is a different matter.

check out the stats on predents. i think you have a chance def for somewhere your stats look great, but the 16qr might hold you back from the ivies. but who am i to say.

I'm sorry, but why on earth are you waiting to apply until now, if you are a re-applicant?? Unless you have a really good excuse, it shows lack of commitment/desire IMHO.

I'd be ready to explain that in interviews. Nice improvement though; I think you'll be fine and get into a school.

do the post December interviewees have significantly less chance of getting accepted? I know most schools are rolling, but I wonder if they save some spots for people doing late interviews...

I did lots of research on predents last night. From last years cycle it seems that i should still be good. Hopefully I'm right!

Statistically yes, you will have less chance of getting accepted since you are competing for fewer spots. However, if they give you an interview, they will have a spot for you as long as you can impress them on the interview.
