Hey there,
I know the general consensus is that reapplying is bad, unless you make significant changes to your application.
Here's my situation: Just finished second year and am likely going to apply to schools so that I might get in after third year. (Yes, I know it's late in the application cycle).
SO, chances are I won't be accepted, and I'll want to reapply next year.
If I apply to school X, get rejected, and reapply next year to school X, then of course the school will know I've been through the application process before.
But what about school Y? If I didn't apply to their school the first time around, will they know I've been through the cycle before? Say I didn't meet school Y's pre-reqs my first time through the cycle, but will the second time around. Will my chances at school Y be hurt that I didn't apply to them the first time? It's not like they were "undesirable" for me or anything.
And, if school X rejected me the first time, but I reapply after 3rd year, and hence will have a bachelor's degree by the time I matriculate, is that not a significant enough improvement to warrant school X not discard my application simply because I've applied before?
There aren't very many schools I can apply to after only second year, without an English credit, and not expecting my bachelor's before matriculation. But I'd be happy to go to any one of those I do qualify for, and figure that I haven't really got much to lose if I apply this year. Maybe I won't be able to reapply to school X, but schools Y,Z,A,B, and C will be just as willing to look at my app next year, right?
Thanks!
