I did an GS sub-I at a place that has integrated PRS and an independent PRS residency. I got a great eval and my attending (GS) wrote me a LOR that I am planning on using for my applications to both specialties.

How would it look if I used his letter when applying to PRS at this institution? GS is my back up plan.

From what I have heard, general rule of thumb is it doesn't much matter what a letter says unless it's from someone in the field. So unless this GS attending is the chair, it will likely carry little weight with any PRS programs. It's tough to say how the PRS program at that institute will react. They may consider it more because they know the individual. They may dismiss it entirely since it is gen Surg.

Sorry to burst your bubble. Gen Surg letters are necessary for dual applying, but they are of little use in applying to PRS programs. I'd focus on plastics Recs...

That's kinda what I thought. Thanks.
