applying to podiatry schools

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Say I want to start podiatry school Fall of 2010. When does application open and When should I apply?

Application opens very early September. The sooner you apply, the better. You could start working on your PS now, for instance, to get a little ahead.

are there statistics anywhere that say how many people applied and were accepted into each podiatry school...like DMU, AZ

the majority of the school websites have class profiles so youll just have to go individually to check them out.

also, you can go to aacpm.org and go to the statistics section for the overall applicant/matriculant statistics.

Just to tag on - if you go to the APMA website it shows the TOTAL numbers applied, accepted, matriculated...along with mean gpa and mcat scores....
I felt the TOTAL number applied and accepted gives a very good big picture idea...

can students defer admissions to podiatry school?

not sure that i'd get a TA to write you a LOR..... 🙁

How hard do you think Western Pod school will be to get into?

I don't think a Lab TA LOR would be applicable....u might want to just call up western in regards to ur LOR dilemma and the Recommendation forum.

Since they are accepting their first class...it is mostly unpredictable to see how difficult their admissions standards will be...

However, if I had to guess, I'd place them on par with AZPOD, DMU & Scholl ...which means...an average acceptance GPA of low to mid 3's and mid 20's on the MCAT....

The dean at Western's program is very accomplished so I'm pretty sure things will be run quite well there...

I'm also curious about this. Could I apply for the fall 2009 class and, if accepted, defer my acceptance to enter the fall 2010 class?

so i've looked at various numbers online and I can't figure out podiatrist salary.

it goes anywhere from 45K to 150K...that seems like a very wide range.

does anyone know from experience what the starting salary is...and what you can realistically expect to earn?

This salary question is getting annoying....and I am not trying to insult/criticize you but numerous people have that same identical question.......do a search within the podiatric forums about salary and Im sure you will find your answer.

Very true. I think we need a sticky up top.
