I will admit that I started this whole application process very late, but am now seeking help. I've received about 4 or 5 secondary applications and filled out a majority of the questions but am so confused as to what they are looking for in terms of "Why I want to be a D.O. essay? Why our school?" I wrote a few paragraphs, but still feel as though something is missing.

Is there any length that works best? Is there something to specifically avoid? What do they look for?

ANY feedback would be really useful since I absolutely must submit these by Friday.

😕 :scared: 😱

the best length is the max. amt of characters/space that they allow....why you want to be a DO?--->just talk about what the philosophy and unique aspects mean to you (hopefully its not only bc you couldn't get into an MD school...but I realize that is the truth for some people)....why our school--> check out their website and search for posts on here about the schools....good luck

taus do i have a chance at PCOM with 23O MCAT, 3.38 overall and science g.p.a's and 3.39 non-science gpa. thanx. how many spots are still open and when do they stop interviewing?

i say you have a chance if you are from the northeast...i had comparable stats with a DO LOR and didnt even get an interview invite..plus i applied back in september..good luck

Looks like ~65 percent of the class is filled. That is according to PCOM class of 2010 group on PCOM's website (need pcom email to access). I know this list doesnt include recently accepted applicants...I was just added and I was accepted 12/22. I would propose that nearly 75 percent of the class is filled...maybe less if some people dont put in their 2K deposit by May 15th.

Good luck...not over until June.

my opinion.....I would never say that you have no shot...but I would take a guess that the chances are pretty slim unless you have something absolutely amazing on your application....even if you don't...you'll never know unless you apply....
