Applying with few science courses

Hello,

I am a career changer with not that many science courses except the basic science pre-reqs (chem, orgos, and bios). I still have to take biochem but thinking about taking it in the Fall because I want to spend my time studying for the DAT in the summer. I am aiming to submit my app by early July at the latest.

Would my lack of science courses hinder my admission chances? Should I just take biochem while studying for DAT?

if that's the only prereq you still need, take it in the fall unless you're applying to a school that requires all prereqs be completed prior to application submisison

As far as I know only at Stonybrook, although there may be other schools as well. Call and ask the schools you wish to apply to.

Im aware that not all schools require biochemistry and that I just need to take it before matriculation but I am just worried that the schools will feel like they dont have enough to make a decision on me with just a few science courses.

certain schools like OSU require that you have 9/13 prereqs completed at the time of application submission, but you'll have to check each school you're applying to about such requirements if you're worried about that.

It depends. As long as you take all the pre-reqs and score decent grades (B and above) or make up for it with killer DAT scores, lack of higher level science courses won't be a problem. I was a history major and only took the basic requirements, but I made sure my DAT scores were dang good.

Apparently schools feel that these 3 core courses is all that is needed.
