So, how is everyone doing? Myself just picking it up. In other words, I just woke up! 😀

Here are my scores so far. Thought I add a human touch. There are some superhuman MCAT testers on SDN.

2/5-AAMC 4---19
3/19-KAPLAN 1---21
3/22-KAPLAN 2---21
3/24-KAPLAN 3---28
3/26-KAPLAN 4---24

I will update daily.

It's not looking good for me. I felt that I scored at least a 20 at the end of the second full length. I was having such a great week too...I almost ace an exam, I win a scholarship, then this. Words of encouragement are welcome.

well, atleast you are a good cook!

Well, I hope I can give someone hope at least because my Kaplan diagnostic was not even close to where I am scoring now.

Kaplan Diagnostic: 24 (7PS, 9VR, 8BS)

FL #1: 33 (11, 10, 12)
FL #2: 35 (11, 13, 11)
FL #3: 35 (12, 12, 11)

AAMC 3R: 38 (13, 12, 13) - I took 3R somewhere in the middle here - might have been after Kaplan FL #2.

FL #4: 35 (12, 12, 11)
FL #5: 37 (13, 12, 12)
FL #6: 35 (12, 12, 11)
FL #7: 36 (12, 12, 12)

AAMC 9: 38 (13, 12, 13)

I don't think I'm going to do anymore Kaplan FL's. I have AAMC 4-8 to do between now and the test and I think that will be more than enough. I'm spending my time now just really focusing on my weak content areas. I miss quite a few questions just because I've put off really trying to understand the material that I don't necessarily like. ;-)

And I'm definitely going to take the last week off. I'll take my last AAMC test the Saturday before the MCAT and then I'm done. I'll do a little bit of review (maybe 30 minutes max) the week before. That close to the exam, there's really not much I can do that it going to make a huge difference, you know?

I'm regressing in VR and bio, which is really pissing me off. I'm trying to do more bio review, and tighten things up, and I think I can do well in that, but VR is my curse. Every time I sit down to take that section, my brain fogs up. I literally feel different, like my brain is in another world. I try turning my brain on, but someone stole the remote. If I can't get my VR scores back up, I may seriously cancel on the April test. I can't afford the scores I'm getting now.

I'm sure they're better than my scores.

🙁

Have you been using all of the Kaplan material? Not just the FLs, but the sectionals, subject tests, etc? It sounds like Kaplan isn't working for you, and that's either due to you not using everything they have to offer, or the two of you not being a good "fit." Try the EK books and see what happens.

You know what my problem is? I'm TIRED!!!! But I'm so afraid that if I let up, and allow myself even a day to relax, that that will be a hinderance. But at the same time, I can't focus! My brain feels all cloudy. I did 100 minutes of Gen Chem problems today, and I haven't graded it yet, but what's the point? I was so out of it! It's a vicious cycle. Where is the balance?!?!?! I relax throughout the day, but I'm becoming apathetic to this process. This is NOT good. 👎

I need to get back to the gym. I have a feeling that my reduced activity (I still exercise, just not religiously like I used to) is not helping my situation. Or my waistline.

My scores plot out a mountain range.

A fairly flat mountain range that is.

Wow, that's impressive! Very inspiring indeed 👍

I'm taking a kaplan review course. Should I trash the kaplan material and start reading out of my EK books?
I would. I, too, am taking the Kaplan course and using the EK books, and I like the EK much better. IMO, they explain things much better and are a lot less overwhelming than the Kaplan stuff.

My scores so far:
Kaplan Diagnostic: 22 (7 PS, 7 VR, 8BS)
Kaplan FL #2: 30 (10, 10, 10)

Good improvement, but I still would like to go up another 5 points or so. From now till April 22nd will be some hardcore studying.

I bet you you can do it if you really focus on the topics you have trouble with. You went up 8 points from the diagnostic on your first full length and that's really good! I don't think 5 more points is out of the realm of possibility at all for you.

My EK books are an older edition, 5th ed. Do you think they differ much from the 6th ed? After reading a couple section from the Bio EK book I think the books will be more helpful to me. The EK books have more color, graphs, and pictures. The Kaplan books are black and white with a couple graphs. But we'll see.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm really happy with where I've gotten so far, my problem right now is figuring out what to focus on, since I'm scoring about the same on all three sections.

From what I've heard the 5th and 6th editions are pretty similar, they just fixed a few errors for the 6th edition, so you should be fine. And I felt the same way, the color and pictures and overall visual appeal of the EK stuff makes me much more interested in it and I seem to retain it a lot better.

I really think I wasn't concentrating very well during FL 2... I hope my next one will rise dramatically b/c I am shooting for a 34. Think I can do it? I hope so! Good luck to everyone.

I'm the opposite. The passage based I can figure out, but the discretes I have to guess if I don't know the formula.

Okay my progression has been:
3r = 12, 11, 12 = 35
Kaplan #1 = 11, 11, 11 = 33
Kaplan #2 = 12, 11, 12 = 35
Kaplan #6 = 11, 13, 11 = 35
4r = 10, 10 , 11 = 31 <--- Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed
5r = 12, 12, 13 = 37!!!!! <--- Holy Crapola!!

(cut and pasted directly out of my blog)

I'm taking 6r with a friend on Saturday

Wow your scores are awesome! Good job! I am hoping to hit the big 3-0 sometime before the actual mcat rolls around...

Those of you who have already taken 9...how was it? Was the difficulty level on par with test 8?

My verbal has dropped like crazy for some reason! I was scoring 10/11's on the EK 101's, and I stopped before the 11th and 12th test just so I could save it for the week of the test. I guess, I "lost" the little verbal skills I had, because I dropped to a 8 on the last practice test!!! And since that practice test, I scored two 9's on other verbal sections! 😕
On the other hand my PS and BS have been increasing to 12 range... just need to work on my timing for PS.

You bastard! ... J/King ...

Kaplan Diag: 24

AAMC 3R: 32
Kaplan FL #6: 29
Kaplan FL #2: 30

Kaplan FL #3 this weekend after a stressful week of exams at school...oughta be interesting. I'll be very surprised if any of my section scores go up this weekend. 🙁

aamc 3r ps12 vr 9 bs12
1 point away from a 10 on vr 🙁

btw does anyone have the scales for the kaplan tests?

Kaplan Diagnostic: 23 (ouch!)
Kaplan FL #1: 31
Kaplan FL #2: 30

Hopefully tomorrow during FL #3 I will get 11's in each section...

ok, here's my FULL progression (including practice for last august's exam, the scores for which explain why i need to take it again):

note: i took the online course. i took some of the kaplan FLs out of order b/c i mixed them up while i was printing them. this list is in chronological order.

Kaplan Diagnostic: 21 (7PS, 6VR, 8BS) (yowza!)
Kaplan FL #1: 27 (9, 9, 9)
Kaplan FL #4: 28 (11, 9, 8)
Kaplan FL #2: 28 (10, 9, 9)
Kaplan FL #3: 32 (11, 10, 11) [week before the august mcat]
august MCAT: 25 (8, 8, 9) [WTF??? almost yacked when i got my score]

after that depressing score, i took a good break from the books and practice tests until mid january, and i've taken 4 practice tests so far.

Kaplan FL #6: 29 (10, 10, 9)
AAMC 3R: 31 (11, 11, 9)
Kaplan FL #7: 31 (10, 11, 10)
AAMC 6R: 30 (11, 9, 10)

any thoughts? i'm taking AAMC 7 this weekend. we'll see how that goes. i'm hoping that i will improve a little bit more this weekend as i've really been cracking down on the biology and physics. i think i can get a 12 in PS if i really work at it. i think i can put the past behind me and really nail this beast.

Took Kaplan FL #3 today (like many others, I'm sure). Just finished grading it, here's my scores so far:

Kaplan Diagnostic: 22 (7 PS, 7 VR, 8 BS)
Kaplan FL #2: 30 (10, 10, 10)
Kaplan FL #3: 34 (11 PS, 13 VR, 10 BS)

Needless to say, I was very pleased with that. I thought the PS section was hard, but I guess everyone else did too cause the curve was much nicer. I'm thrilled with the verbal score, if I can keep that up I will be ecstatic. I actually thought the verbal section was pretty easy, normally there's at least one passage that I struggle with but this time I thought they all went well. This week will be a lot of biology studying, since that's the section I really haven't improved much in.

Here are my kaplan scores. Just finished FL 3:

Diagnostic: :scared: 18 (PS6/VR4/BS8)

 FL1: 22 (PS9/VR6/BS7)

😳 FL2: 25 (PS8/VR7/BS10)

😀 FL3: 31 (PS11/VR10/BS10)

maybe I CAN do this afterall???

My scores so far....

Kaplan Diagnostic 23
Kap FL 1 25
Kap FL 2 28
Kap FL 3 28
Kap FL 4 not offically graded but i think a 24
AAMC 3R 27
AAMC 4R 30
AAMC 5R 32
AAMC 6R 29

Can I really get maybe like a 35!?!?! :scared:

Kaplan FL #3: 31

Got 11's in both the PS and BS but i am decreasing in score in VR with each subsequent test. Looks like that's where I need to get crackin'

Kaplan FL 4 today: 30 (9/11/10).
Starting to have trouble finishing the sections. I feel like I'm starting to burn out. I think I'll take the next 2 days off from studying, and resume on Tuesday. Plus, I'm done with Kaplan FLs now; time to practice with some more AAMC tests.
Good luck everyone!

FT 1-28: 9-8-11
FT2-29: 9-9-11
FT6-28: 10-8-10
FT3-30: 11-8-11
Now if I can just pull that 8 to a 10 or 11 and maybe those 11 to 12.

Has anyone taken Examkrackers 1G? I took it today; it was damn tough... way harder than the AAMC tests I've taken so far. ugh.

Yeah, that one is a killer. Although, it is a good test to identify your weak spots.

excuse my ignorance, but what is the kaplan fls?
aamc 3-7 range 22-34

Okay my progression has been:
3r = 12, 11, 12 = 35
