Hello,

I've been prepping for a few months now. April 6 date. Practice tests coming in at 498, then 506, so I'm anticipating I'll need a 2nd test.

Everything else is ready to go and I want to apply first week of June, but will taking a second MCAT on May 24, slow down my application significantly? Is there a place to note second scores coming?

I can't speak as well to timing of the application cycle, but I would suggest being more focused on your first MCAT before you start worrying about a second one.

Your test date is coming up pretty soon (this week). You'd be surprised how much a score can change with a week of dedicated studying, especially if you know the areas where you're weakest. Simply going into the test with confidence/the right mentality could lead to a significant score bump!

Good Luck!

May 24th should be the only test date you attend if you're not happy with those FL scores. You really don't want to take the MCAT more than once, so if you're not happy with your practice scores, you might want to postpone. The AAMC full lengths are usually pretty accurate indicators of your actual exam score, so don't expect any miracles on the day of the test. May 24th shouldn't put you at a disadvantage, you can get verified without an MCAT score and update AMCAS as soon as you get the score and you'd still be relatively early.

I think you are past the reschedule timeframe. If you are unhappy with your full lengths, then definitely void the exam, but realize an extra 6 weeks may not be a huge improvement (individuals vary). A low MCAT is a much bigger detriment than submitting at the end of June.

Just a reminder that it's possible to void if you felt the exam didn't go well and you want to retake.

As far as I know it will not show up on your records.

Just an FYI, you can still be a part of the first wave with a May 24th MCAT if you submit with one throwaway school. AAMC does not send applications out until end of June.
