Indeed.. and they had to retract nearly 29,000 (!!!) mistaken acceptances. Wow.

In a similar category (though not as bad) was an experience I had this year applying to internships. One program sent a mass email rejection to over 100 applicants and forgot to hide the names of the other addressees. So -- this meant that everyone could look down the distribution list and see who of their cohort had been rejected.🙄

I think this happened at Cornell a few years back as well.
