zach1201 said:Let's hope for some verifications tomorrow for those that submitted the week of Fourth of July (and before)!
I'm going to post this everyday with an additional shamrock until my AMCAS is verified.
P.S. Does AMCAS make note of when you call their offices?
taylormade44 said:and what would AMCAS make a note for? and if they did what would it matter?
zach1201 said:So they realize how many times I've called them to pester them about my application getting verified.
zach1201 said:I think....
yes, I just pooped myself.
I'M VERIFIED!!!
Darkshooter326 said:If it says they received your transcript on the 30th, let's say they send you an email on the 10th of July. Were you ready for review on the 5th? NO. You were ready for review on the 10th, which is when you were placed in line.
I've said this about 20 times, I called AMCAS a few times, and got the same response every time. So, that's it.
Shejeboshease said:submitted mine on the july 1st, its still not verified. i called them up, but they said the regular waiting period is 4-6 weeks. what was the point of submitting my application so early then? so frustrating....
Darkshooter326 said:"representative told me that we go in line for review based on when we get the acknowledgement e-mail. "
I've said it before, but I don't think Queen Jackie cares?
jackieMD2007 said:Hi cannister,
That shouldn't be the case. The stages are:
Waiting for Transcripts (they send email(s) when they get your transcripts...sometimes even if your transcripts are already in it says this for about an hour, this is normal)
Ready for Review (They have your transcripts and you're in line)
Under Review (they are working on your file)
Verified (You get an email saying you're verified.)
Most people miss their "Under Review" stage because it is so short and the AAMC doesn't notify you by email when you are Under Review, just when you're verified. It is possible that if you went "under review" on a friday or a saturday that the weekend slowed the process. Also if your reviewer was ill or something. But this situation isn't incredibly common, from my understanding. If you have been "under review" for more than 5 business days, I would call AMCAS and make sure everything's okay.

cannister said:Hey JackieMD,
Thanks so much for your reply.
I went from "ready for review" to "under review" on July 19 (Wed) and hasn't changed since then.
I called AMCAS many times and one rep even told me that a verifier is allowed up to two weeks to verify coursework for a single application. (WTF????????)
This can't be right. I can't imagine one person devoting 4-5 days verifying coursework on two transcripts. Do they take an hour break after every single course they verify or something? This is insane.
If you check the thread: "Time from under review to verification" there are several SDNers who were "under review" since July 9
This is nuts.
Sigh, this is frustrating to say the least.
Sorry to hear about your lengthy wait, cannister. That really stinks. I'll bet you probably got a slow reviewer, and hopefully your wait will be over soon. I didn't even see my application go "under review," and I know I had checked it at about noon the day I was verified. Best of luck!!cannister said:Hey JackieMD, do you know anyone who had their status online changed from "ready for review" to "under review" and the status of "under review" hasn't changed for more than 3 days?
Just want your insight on this matter.
Thanks
jackieMD2007 said:Hi everyone,
I was just doing some numbers for our June submitters who submitted after the MCAT and were NOT Early Decision Program. Closer to the 19th we have people waiting just 4 days, but as we stretch towards the end of the month, we see waits in the 20's, and still have people waiting. There are more 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 day waits as we push deeper into the month.
You can see from simple inspection that the July submitters who are already verified have been waiting mostly 17+ days (calendar days), from receipt of their transcripts.
Good luck to everyone still waiting. Let's hope the wait times don't get any longer!
jackieMD2007 said:I don't know when the busiest times are but I would guess right after each of the MCAT scores break. April MCAT scores came out 6-19. I think people waited to write PS, complete app, etc, to see if they needed to take August. I'm not sure when August scores come out, but I know that the August MCAT'ers should submit when ready. I bet there will be a lot of last-minute apps right after the August scores break as well.
EDIT: all we are doing on this thread is keeping track of when people submitted and how long they had to wait to determine (roughly) current wait times. About 20ish days right now is "normal."
keepdreaming said:The August scores come out in November so definitely expect a HUGE rush that month. I was looking at last year's thread on verifiecation status and it only took 6-10 days to get verified for those who submitted mid july to august. even faster if you submitted earlier. whats the hold up this year??? (and no you can't say July 4th because occurs every year)
