They talked about it on page 10. Also, you can check the AMCAS help with your application. Some schools email secondaries. Some don't. We are working it out in the various threads

Jackie's other thread indicates which secondaries are by email invitation, posted on the website, etc...

Yes, that's the general process. The transcripts are used to verify the course list you put into the AMCAS/AACOMAS.

Do a little searching. You'll find what you need on SDN.

It seems that the "weirdness" of your app (# of colleges, transcripts, etc.) may delay processsing a bit. mine was under review for about 6 days.

Well that would explain my delay... ARGHHH!! Submitted 6/7, though last transcript (of 6) didn't arrive until 6/16. Still waiting... 😱 😡 I hate being at someone else's mercy....

I'm putting everything as AMCAS says I should. If the course has engineering in the name, it's going as an engineering class. I think I classified my Thermo as engineering b/c it was given by the engineering department (the course number had an ENG instead of CAS for college of arts and sciences). Again, we'll see what they think about that one! 😱

Thanks! Unfortunately... there seems to have been a slight mistake on one of my courses: my full-year sophomore tutorial was classified as 4 credits instead of 8. Worth the 10-15 business days it might take to get that fixed? It only bumps my GPA up by a measly ~.01, but having the hours there does show that I was taking five classes that fall...

Your error was not as glaring as mine, undercut by 30 semester hours, but its something that might be good because you want an accurate representation of your transcript. If they find it, I'm not sure what they would do.

judging by everybody's posts here it looks like they are stuck on the evening of the 19th still. ive learned to deal with this by doing 2 things:

1) ignoring it, and
2) doing secondaries as if the primary is already done

i feel that this is in everyone's best interest, since there is no possible way that my LORs will get there before the primary is done anyway.

I'm assuming "processing is complete" means that you're verified, right?

That may be true, but I wonder what information is provided with the AMCAS notification to the schools. Maybe just MCAT scores? I have heard that some schools, while it may not be advertised, do have a minimum MCAT score, below which they will not send out secondaries. Who knows???

That's a very good point! I know Columbia has a 27 cut-off (so I have been told).

Well, I wonder how ling they are going to take. From what people have posted, the average verification time is between 9 -10 days.
