Please contribute any other information you may have, I am so confused on this decision.
ARCOM- Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine
pros:
- traditional curriculum with some tbl/pbl
- one location for all four years, gives me a chance to make friends/network/ do long term research
- cheaper tuition and lower cost of living
cons:
- coming from California, I feel intimidated by the unknown... smaller town/less vibrant (makes me afraid how my mental health will be as well as a much more conservative community) but that southern hospitality may be really refreshing
- letter grading
ATSU-SOMA
pros:
- close to home, environment more in line with what I am used to
- earlier patient exposure through the 1+3 model
- p/f/h grading
cons:
- much more expensive+ cost of living
- for the class of 2025, they have completely changed their curriculum in which they seem to expect us to fish for our own materials and study independently... and exams are made for each individual group.... which seems odd.
- ranking system that is sent to residency programs.
