Is a 501 MCAT score equal to a 502 MCAT score?

The confidence intervals on the MCAT score report indicate they are in the same interval, however the AAMC MCAT-GPA grid shows a 501 and 502 MCAT under separate categorizations.
Depends on what you mean by equivalent I suppose.

The AAMC MCAT-GPA grid is used to show the percent accepted for given MCAT-GPA combos. I'm not sure how they decided on cut-offs, but they did.

From a methodological or admissions standpoint, they are very close and would in all likelihood be viewed as equal.

Yes. Both are lethal for MD, but OK at best for DO.

The people who get into MD programs with low MCAT scores are either URM, veterans, have compelling life stories and/or killer ECs, legacies, or have taken and aced an SMP.

You also can't rely on those reports because they are skewed by people who get into the state schools in the midwest and south, and which are very in-sate biased.
