So since I have been new to this forum, I am seeing "new" (well to me) dental schools. Like for example, Meharry or Medical College of Georgia. Are these schools accredited by the ADA? And if not, does this mean it is not a good idea to go to schools like this?

I don't think there is a dental school in the US not ADA accredited.

both MCG and Meharry have been around and accredited for quite sometime...new??

Nice info👍... Is there a reason some schools haven't or lost their accreditation?

Isn't that the same as newly accredited? as in they're new schools accredited by the ADA.

From my understanding the newly accredited distinction allows all current students that are enrolled into the program to achieve their DDS/DMD degree.

however the school itself is on a probational period and may have its accredited status revoked upon formal reviews of the program (if this happens all current students may finish their course and required years but there will be no more admissions and/or the school will argue the finding and make changes to their curriculum) . these reviews happen more frequently then a fully accredited university but are held to the same degree of detail and required areas to maintain the accredited status.

Yea.. and international 🙁 sorry
confused...

MCG/Meharry are not new, they are in GA and TN.

not sure where you going with this...but anyway, the two schools above, Western and Midwestern, are new to open and have not yet graduated any dentists so they have no basis as to their "qualifications".

I was saying that I am international, and not familiar with some schools..
