Are most tests reading-comp-based, or just some tests?

I was just wondering, if you took the MCAT as of late, you had a more straight-forward kind of test (similar to the old one) rather than the reading-comprehension type test that seems to be consistent with the new style. Also, can you say if this was just the PS section or just the BS section?

I feel like 9 is more verbally oriented than 8.
