Hey all, I was wondering if you think my EC's are sufficient? I would really appreciate your feedback. I don't apply til June 2014 soI still have time but my schedule is pretty tight. Please note that EC's are dated as of June 2014 and not present day bc I still have some postbac classes to take. Thanks.

Clinical volunteering:

ABC hospital: patient rounding (4 months, 5/11-8/12, 30 hrs)
XYZ Hospital: ED volunteer (10 months, 8/11-5/12, 175 hrs)
DEF Hospital: patient rounding (17 months, 1/13-5/14, 250 hrs)

Shadowing:

- various docs in various specialties (approx. 150 hrs)

Medical Empoyment:

-Scribe: (15 months, 30hrs/week)

Research:
1 Publication in medical journal

Expand a little. "Various docs in various specialities" doesn't say much aside from "various docs in various specialities." More for my curiosity than anything.

I've shadowed ophthalmologists, urologists, rheumatologists, and internists. What do you all think of my EC's? Am I deficient in certain areas? Thanks

Quantity is fine. How's the quality?

Can you intelligently answer questions like these:
1. How does health care work in the US?
2. How would you fix health care in the US?
3. Tell us about a situation where you faced an ethical dilemma in a clinical setting.
4. What does a doctor do all day?

Perhaps you could add some leadership and non medical volunteering? Also, any hobbies or interesting things you do for fun?
