Hi all,

My gpa isn't all that great thanks to my crappy first and second year grades, but overall I have 3.2 gpa. I'm not sure what's considered a good GRE score, but I got 600 V 760 Q 1360 total 4.0 essay. I have worked as an autism therapist, pharm tech, volunteered in first aid leadership role for 5 years, volunteered in hospital for 2 years, and so on. Are my chances good for some of the top 10 MPH schools in US? I'm currently accepted in UBC and that's the only school I applied to since I didn't think my application is strong enough for other top schools worldwide, but I'm curious right now if I am good enough after all. Any thoughts?

GPA > 3
GRE in 90 percentile (I suppose)
Related work experience 5+ years
Volunteer work - yes

I would say you are pre approved - just make your case in SOP.

my work experience is all part time jobs only though, so how would schools look at that?

In my opinion your resume is good enough for top ranks. For the mid tier it is more than they can ask for. Which concentration area are you looking at?

If you're looking at top tiers, it's really not about what you can list as much as it is articulating how your experiences, etc have introduced you to PH, what your interests are, and how school X is going to help you achieve your PH goals.

Let's be realistic: schools like Hopkins, Columbia, UNC, UCLA, Berkeley, etc are going to get applications from students with impressive scores and experiences. You need to set yourself apart with great recommendations and your ability to communicate how and why what you've done has prepared you to be a top candidate.

Your scores are good enough, that you should give the high-end schools a shot.
