Are post-December interviews offered to applicants who applied later?

I submitted my application in mid-July and I believe schools began receiving my application from late-July to early-August. Fortunately, I have been offered 3 pre-December interviews, and I feel that my 2 interviews so far have gone okay.

How likely am I to get post-December interviews? Are interviews "later" in the cycle typically reserved for those who submit their applications later (e.g. September, October, November, etc.)?

I ask because I haven't received an interview at my state school, and the schools I interviewed at have very small classes or are one of the pricier schools.

My friend who is a second year dental student says most private schools tend to send OOS invites post-December. She applied in July as well and had one interview from an in state school, but come post-dec 3 private schools invited her to interview: temple, roseman, tufts. So I think as long as you don't get a rejection from the schools, you still have a chance of them taking a second look at your app and inviting you at a later time. 🙂

Actually it happened to two other friends as well:
Friend 2: 1 pre / 2 post dec @lecom, USC (submitted app in July)
Friend 3: 1 pre / 3 post dec @roseman, tufts, USC (submitted late sept)


All of which, got into at least one of the schools 🙂

why do you feel they are done? From the looks of it, an interview at upenn and stony implies great stats!

Just because December is approaching and I submitted my application relatively early. Although I got interviews at some great places including my top choice, I'm hoping for a shot at my state school!

I feel your pain, I submitted in June, have gotten 3 pre-Dec interviews, but none since August. Lets just hope for the best!

I submitted in August, DAT scores were sent first week on October. Haven't heard anything except from Midwestern-AZ who put me on an interview waitlist a day after I submitted the supplementary. Should I start panicking yet?

With your stats, probably not. You'll get something soon. Schools are in the midst of interviews so it might take a bit since your application was just completed recently.
